About me

I am a passionate, enthusiastic politics student. I have a wealth of experience in the art form of essay writing, as a result of years of examinations and constant requirements at university. I understand that the requirements of examinations are in a constant process of change, as it is similar to the radical changes of regimes within the world of politics! Therefore my sessions will aim to equip students to deal with these changes with ease, thus aiding their overall improvement within the subject. After every lesson, I will measure progress through a document which essentially describes key notes within the lesson, with the learning objectives at the top. This will be a shared document, in which the student is encouraged to also write notes, to help build knowledge over sessions. This will aid revision in the long term.

It is imperative that my preparation for the student is key. As I am an advocate for the tutor to work just as hard as the student, as it maximises the opportunity for the student to reach higher grades. Therefore my sessions will seek to orientate within the examination board given by the student. From this, I will be able to use examination reports to aid the student in forming coherent answers that have not fallen into the trap of previous students! Therefore, my preparation is key to sessions as it allows for a focus on what is needed to structure a great answer.

About my sessions

One fundamental aim within my sessions is that all students are engaged with the topic. Therefore allowing the student to maintain interest in the subject and remain focused within the session. In order to deliver this within my sessions, I will tailor the lesson around the students perspective of specific weaknesses within the subject and help build confidence to transform these weaknesses to strengths!

However, these sessions will be goal-orientated, based around the student fulfilling maximum potential. My sessions will ultimately act as a platform for the students to flourish as academics, because of the nature of the session and the tailoring of key exam questions and examples that will allow the student expand knowledge aiding the answering of higher marked questions.

All sessions will revolve around 2 learning objectives which will be completed and discussed within the first 10 and last 5 minutes of the session, in order to help the student understand what these sessions are aiming to achieve, and also recap what has been completed and what needs to be improved. This will be tailored around the core syllabus of the subject.

1) This objective will focus on the area/ topic of interest

2) This objective will focus on an exam question that is related

Questions Hamza has answered

Outline two assumptions of the behaviousrist approach (4 marks)

Firstly, it is crucial that one understands that different marked questions demand distinct varied answers. Within psychology this can undertake either a simplistic definitional answer or a more detailed, coherent evaluative answer that incorporates greater detail in order to reach a broader bracket of marks using the specific examinations boards preference. Thus, gaining a greater overall grade. Firstly when discussing this particular question one assumption of the behaviourist approach is that we learn through classical conditioning. This is based on the principle of association. Pavlov showed through his research on dogs that if two stimuli are presented together, Eg (food and bell) and this is done repeatedly they become associated with each other. Through this process, we can learn new responses to environment stimuli, as the behaviourist approach says all behaviour is learned.Another assumption of the behaviourist approach is that they learn through the consequences of our actions. This is called operant conditioning. We learn through reinforcement and punishment (one increases likelihood of behaviour being repeated and other decreases it). Reinforcement can be positive or negative. Negative Reinforcement s where something is taken away so behaviour is repeated and positive reinforcement is where we receive something so behaviour is repeated.
