About me

I'm a first-year medical student who has a love for both the sciences and helping others! Having studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths for A-levels, I understand that some concepts or topics may be a bit harder to grasp hence I would love to be able to help tackle this and go through it with the student. Having previously tutored for the last 2 years, I am confident that I have the appropriate skills to be a great tutor and would love to help other students achieve their goals!

About my sessions

During the first couple of sessions I would first identify what it is exactly that the student needs help in and then from there I would collate various resources dedicated to that area that they could work from. I would first establish what it is that they already know and then go through what it is that they struggle in so that they have a template to work from. I understand that it is very hard to grasp something straightway so depending on how well they do on their extra work that I provide them will be what my future session will be based on. I believe that patience is key when delivering this kind of help and a trusting relationship needs to be cemented which I hope that I will be able to achieve no matter what.

Questions Rama has answered

How do I answer the hardest question in a Medicine interview - Why Medicine?

This is where no-one can help you answer the question but yourself - ask yourself honestly why it is that you want to do Medicine? Was is seeing a family member suffering from something? Was it after your work experience? Was it because you are genuinely interested in the human anatomy? The first hurdle to answering this question is finding what YOUR motivation to study Medicine is. Once you find this, the answer will come easily and naturally to you. This isn't a trick question - you just need to essentially do an elevator pitch using your personal statement and there is your starting point. This is where no-one can help you answer the question but yourself - ask yourself honestly why it is that you want to do Medicine?
