Degree: History (Bachelors) - Durham University
I'm a History student at Durham University. However, as well as tutoring History, I also specialise in Maths and Science (especially Chemistry), subjects which I achieved A*s in at A Level.
I am enthusiastic but also patient, and I'm good at making complex ideas easy to understand. I'm able to work closely to the needs of my tutees and make them feel more confident about their abilities.
Aside from the world of academia, I have lots of experience coaching orienteering from age ten to adult. I have coached British Champions as well as people who do the sport for fun and just want to improve their skills. At uni I also train students how to use radio hardware and software and how to present the news.
What happens in a tutorial?
Everything we discuss will be taken from your feedback (what you're struggling with... how to answer questions...). It is important to have a good knowledge of the concepts, before moving on to question papers. So in the end you should be able to explain to me how to answer questions!
We will use graphs, diagrams and pictures to make the lessons fun and also memorable! Even in a short time you will hopefully feel like you've made a lot of progress.
Send me a 'WebMail' or book a 'Meet the Tutor' session. Remember to tell me your exam board and what you're struggling with so we can get started!
