About me

About Me:

I am a recent graduate in music from St Catherine's College, University of Oxford. I am extremely dedicated to music as a cause and wish to convey my passion in my tutorials. I had tutored composition informally for many years and so have developed a friendly but focused approach to tutoring.

My experience:

I am a friendly musician and composer with much experience in both fields. My experience ranges from music theory (ABRSM grades 1 to 8), composition, orchestration, analysisinstrumental tuition (taught and self-taught), music history, and musicology.

I attended the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Junior Conservatoire Advanced Course whilst during my A-level studies where I received tuition in Clarinet, Composition, and A-level Music.

I have had the pleasure to hold the position of Principal Composer with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales between 2014 to 2015, and also studied as a composer with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britian in 2012.

I also have considerable experience working as an studio producer of music, so can readily help with Music Technology courses also.

Tutorials:

You guide your education. I believe most important factor for any tutorial system is self-research, both on my part and yours. I intend to use your preferences in learning style as the base for which to base my tuition. Of course, these sessions intend to be fun, packed with music, and worthwhile in a sense above remembering facts. I always intend to uphold a sense of creativity!

Mentoring:

The Oxbridge application system is non-comparable and having recently experienced this, I am very keen to assist any budding applicant. This may include advice for personal statements, interview preparations, or developing further skills that assist your application. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions regarding Oxbridge!

Contacting me:

Please feel free to send any questions/queries, send me a message or book a 'meet the tutor session'. Remember to include your exam board, learning style(s) and what help you are looking for. I look forward to meeting you!
