About me

I am an enthusiastic, friendly and passionate university student studying law with criminology. Outside of University I love running and I'm also part of the netball society and volunteer organisations. I absolutely love my degree for a number of reasons, but one of them is the huge scope it provides on the outlook you have. Whilst the law side explains the processes and rules around the law, the criminology aspect explores the effect of these measures on the people who are involved with...

Outside of University I love running and I'm also part of the netball society and volunteer organisations. I absolutely love my degree for a number of reasons, but one of them is the huge scope it provides on the outlook you have. Whilst the law side explains the processes and rules around the law, the criminology aspect explores the effect of these measures on the people who are involved with the legal system. I have always found that there is never just one way to look at things, and I have always tried to expand my outlook on everything, so the different perspectives involved in the course fit with this well.

This is a lot like tutoring. There are no two people who learn exactly the same or have exactly the same needs when it comes to studying, as everyone is different. Exams can be really stressful, especially if you're struggling or need the extra boost in certain areas of your subject. Having had experience myself with tutoring I know firsthand how much it can help having the extra support there if and when you need it, which is what I'm here for. I have always loved English and History, which were my highest performing subjects in both GCSE and A-level, so I'm happy to help any time.

As I mentioned earlier, no two people are the same when it comes to your individual learning experiences, so I think it'd be really important to start off trying to figure out the learning style that's best for you if you're not already sure. Obviously tutoring is completely tailored to your needs so if there's any areas you're struggling with in particular we'll start straight on those, however no worries if not, as we can work our way through the syllabus to get a feel for the strengths and areas to boost in your subject. When it comes to improvement in your subject, the important thing to remember is it's not a race. Tutoring is meant to help and support you and not to pressure you, so the best way to reach your target is at the speed that suits you best.

I'd start each session with a quick activity to get you thinking about the topic, and then we'll launch straight into the main bit to work on for that day. At the end of each session I'll make sure we have a bit of time to talk about any issues or worries you have to work on for the next week, and I'd really encourage any requests for tutoring that'd help you in your subject.

When I was studying for both English and History, I found that practice was the best learning technique for me. For example, when it comes to analysis which is a big part of both subjects, analysing loads of passages with new writing techniques I'd learned worked really well.
