About me: I am a history student at Balliol College, Oxford. I love almost all humanities, especially History and RS (Philosophy, Ethics and Theology). I hope that our sessions will help me share my enthusiasm and interest! I am very friendly and patient. I have enjoyed informal tutoring in the past and am considering a possible career in teaching (much to the amusement of my friends). I feel very strongly about the importance of education. The Sessions: I have found that with History it is the analysis and discussion that is important for the exam and would suggest our time would best be spent here. With RS and French understanding can be trickier so we could focus on that too. Exam technique is also something else than can boost exam performance hugely. Our tutorials will be based around what you want, so let me know if there is anything in particular you would like to cover. Sessions work best when there is a discussion between you and me rather than like a classroom lesson. That way the sessions should be much more fun and interesting and we can achieve exactly what you want. Personal Statements: Having been through the UCAS process recently myself, I know how daunting Personal Statements can be. But with a structured approach we can put something together that puts across your interest as well as your abilities. Oxbridge Interviews: I also went through the Oxbridge interview process myself last year and volunteered as an Undergraduate helper this year. I am happy to give advice for most humanities regarding technique and do a practice interview for history. That will give you a rough idea of how the interviews work, as well as make you feel more comfortable and hopefully a bit less nervous. What next? If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to get in contact. Just send a ‘WebMail’ or book a ‘Meet the Tutor Session’. I look forward to meeting you!

George was great at going through the HAT process and a past paper with me, especially when it came to structuring the tricky essay questions.
