Degree: Psychology (Bachelors) - Edinburgh University
I am a Psychology student at the University of Edinburgh who has always enjoyed Maths, Biology and History and undertook these subjects at advanced higher level. I am a friendly individual who is approachable and i have previous experience in helping out individuals with Maths and Biology as i volunteered in classes during my last year at High School.
My aim will be to explain problems and concepts in the simplest of ways, using diagrams and drawings to help me assist in doing so. Once i have explained a concept, i will then go on to prompt the student to explain the same concept to ensure they have fully understood the idea.

The way to find the length of one side of a triangle can be to use SOHCAHTOA, an abbreviation learnt to help rememeber the process. SOH stands for sin = opposite / hypotenuse , CAH stands for cos = adjacent / hypotenuse and TOA stands for tan = opposite over adjacent. The angle of the triangle provided should be used to determine whether sin, cos or tan will be used for this particular triangle. Once this has been completed, for example if you were using sin, the formula would be sin (angle provided) = length of opposite side / length of hypotenuse side.see more
