About me

I am currently studying Sociology at university and am throughly passionate about the subject. I remember how difficult and stressful taking exams and applying to University could be, especially whilst you are trying to do both at the same time. I tried to remain as organised and motivated as possible throughout the year setting myself goals so that I could achieve the grades I worked hard for. Aside from my studies I enjoy socialising with friends, travelling and watching films and Netflix....

I tried to remain as organised and motivated as possible throughout the year setting myself goals so that I could achieve the grades I worked hard for. Aside from my studies I enjoy socialising with friends, travelling and watching films and Netflix. I try to be encouraging, supportive and patient with my students as it is important that all lessons are catered to the student's needs and to install in them the belief that they can achieve the grades they desire.

About my sessions

Whilst I was studying for both my GCSE's and A Levels, I religiously used mind maps as revision techniques. Not only did I find that you could make these quite enjoyable using colours and illustrations, but it was a good way to condense information that I knew rather than simply just reading my notes. Therefore, during my lessons I would pick a topic for example: Education in Sociology and then break this down into a sub topic such as External Factors. We would then mind map the key conce...

We would then mind map the key concepts, sociologists and key examples and then for the second half of the lesson apply this to a practice question using the information we condensed down. Over the course of the lessons I will pick questions with varying marks available, this will allow for development with different types of questions and the frequent practice will hopefully see an improvement in time. It will also allow me to focus on any weak points in essays which I can help to tackle. Near the end of the lesson I would ask the student what they have learnt and what they want to learn the following week so that the lesson is centred around the student.

I was very lucky to have been recommended by my BIL of this site that too came at the very last minute to the exam but quality of support my daughter got from both the teachers were simply outstanding. Both the teachers were Flexible, professional, friendly and very effective. My daughter came back with a simile from both the exams. I will recommend them with confidence and thank you teachers.
