I have consistently been one of the top students in my course and have received awards for the highest average grade in my year. I also have extensive experience in teaching - I have helped the Latvian physics Olympiad team prepare for the past 4 years. I have done this by preparing materials, doing lectures and coming up with original problems. In the past I have also participated in the international physics Olympiad three times and the international chemistry Olympiad once. I love science and mathematics and want to devote my life to understanding the intricate connections between them better; I also enjoy teaching and conveying the complex structures that underlie them in an understandable way.
I like to make my sessions interactive and engage with the student as much as possible. I can go over harder topics and explain how to approach problems in an effective manner. Mostly I go over problems with the student and try to point them in the correct direction without explicitly giving away the answer - this means that through the process of discovery the student is more likely to remember the principles behind problem solving and hence will have the ability to solve non-standard proble...
