Degree: English Literature (Bachelors) - Exeter University
Hello! I’m in my second year at the University of Exeter reading English Literature. I absolutely love my studies, and would be ecstatic to help others with what I know – and spend more time discussing English!
I am a very patient person with experience working in classrooms throughout Sixth Form, assisting in English and French lessons and becoming active in a peer reading project at the lower school. As a waitress, I have often been called upon show new employees the ropes over their first shifts, which I think demonstrates my friendliness and ability to explain things to others.
One of my essays has recently been recommended by my seminar leader to be put forward as one of the university’s entries for the US Embassy/BAAS Ambassador’s Award for Best Undergraduate Essay – I’m still awaiting the results so fingers crossed!
Each session will be tailored to your needs, and dictated by what you feel you want to cover. This could range from mind-mapping and discussing specific texts, to practising and perfecting exam technique, to answering queries about writing generally. I want sessions to be engaging, with the use of multiple media, and ultimately fun.
As a tutor I always strive to be as concise, clear, and approachable as possible, and will always welcome any questions you may have.
If you have any questions, please get in touch via ‘Webmail’ or book a ‘Meet the tutor’ session (both accessible through the website). Please let me know beforehand what level you are studying at and which texts you are reading.
Thanks very much, and I’m so excited to work with all of you!
