About me

A bit about me:

Hi I'm George - a second year chemistry student at the University of Bath! I am passionate about tutoring in Chemistry and Maths and still enjoy learning new and interesting things in these subjects at University. I have experience in sixth form of educating students in GCSE maths and I have also helped out a lot throughout the science department in open days.

I have also taken the time after completing my first year to teach some chemistry lessons at school - this has given me a great insight into how students learn the subject best across a range of abilities.

As as I have recently applied to university I am also happy to advise any prospective sixth form students on personal statements or mock interview questions as I have experienced these first hand very recently.

Tutorial sessions:

I hope that tutoring sessions can be productive and good fun - I aim to cover the topics the students request from a basic level, and build this up until those exam questions are nailed! I would also share several revision techniques I have learned throughout my studies - emphasising that little and often is much better than lots the night before!

Tutorials often involve me explaining a requested topic and then quizzing the student when they feel comfortable tackling questions on the topic. Please note that I am happy to mark any work a couple of days before any confirmed tutorials so that the sessions can be as productive as possible, and I believe good feedback is key to good results. I am also happy to go through exam and homework questions in the tutorial - what we cover and how it is covered is up to you.

Availability:

I am free throughout the weekend and Wednesday afternoons and most evenings.

If you're interested or have any questions drop me a message or arrange a free 'meet the tutor' session.

I look forward to meeting with you!
