About me

About Me:

I am a history student in my final year of study at the University of Warwick. I'm absolutely passionate about my subject across all periods of history, with a particular specialism in early modern and early 20th century European history. I also have a love for English literature (especially Shakespeare!) and both ancient history and classical texts, notably The Iliad and Greek tragedies such as Oedipus Rex, Hippolytus and Medea. I'm currently holding an offer with the Think Ahead graduate scheme where I will train to become a mental health social worker, a challenge I'm very excited to take on.

Whilst I have no experience in tutoring specifically, I have extensive experience with working with young people ranging from facilitating youth groups in Malawi advocating gender equality and raising awareness of HIV symptoms and prevention methods, to volunteering in my local area with children with learning difficulties helping them to develop independent living skills.

The Sessions:

During the sessions, you will guide what we cover. I am happy to provide sessions ranging from essay writing technique to close analysis of texts.

I hope that I can pass on my passion for the subjects we cover in the session over to you and we can tailor the sessions to meet your specific academic needs and your preferred leaning methods. I’ll be a supportive and friendly face and hopefully help you overcome any difficulties you’re having with a topic.

I'm applying to Oxbridge, can you help me?

Yes! Before my time at Warwick, I was successful in my application to study ancient and modern history at The Queen's College, Oxford, where I studied for 7 months Oct 2011 - April 2012, before having to withdraw due to unexpected changes in my family circumstances. Having been through the application process myself, I'd be more than happy to give advice on the HAT (History Aptitude Test) and the interview stages of an Oxbridge application.

What next?

If you have any questions, send me a 'WebMail' or book a 'Meet the Tutor Session'! (both accessible through this website). Remember to tell me your exam board and what you're struggling with.

I look forward to meeting you!
