About me

About Me:

I am a recent French, Spanish and Linuistics graduate. I have always had a real passion and love for language and hope that my tutorials will instill that love in you, too.

I am very patient and friendly, and have a lot of experience teaching. I have taught English to international students, in addition to teaching English as a foreign language at a summer camp in Barcelona, to children aged 5 to 15. I have been teaching via mytutor for nearly two years.

I'm applying to university.. Can you help me?!

Yes! I can also help with your personal statement.

What next?

If you have any questions, send me a 'WebMail' or book a 'Meet the Tutor Session'! (both accessible through this website). Remember to tell me your exam board and what you would like to focus on during the session.

I look forward to meeting you!

About my sessions

During the sessions, you will guide what we cover. In language learning, I am in favour of understanding, rather than learning by repetition. We can also focus on exam questions and exam technique if you wish.

I hope the sessions will be fun! A lot can be achieved in an hour, especially if it is made enjoyable- I would love to pass on my passion for languages!

Questions Elizabeth has answered

How can I remember when to use 'être' in the perfect tense?

Etre is the auxiliary that is usually used with verbs that mean 'coming' or 'going' in French, as opposed to avoir. You can use the 'DR MRS VANDERTRAMP' acronym to help you remember:

Devenir (to become) past participle: devenu

Monter (to climb) past participle: monté
Rester (to stay) past participle: resté
Sortir (to leave) past participle: sorti
Passer (to pass) past participle: passé

Venir (to come) past participle: venu
Aller (to go) past participle: allé
Naître (to be born) past participle: né
Descendre (to descend) past participle: descendu
Entrer (to enter) past participle: entré
Rentrer (to re-enter) past participle: rentré
Tomber (to fall) past participle: tombé
