Hi, I'm Maiya, a first year undergraduate at the University of Warwick, studying International Management. Being an independent individual with the passion to thrive in new areas of business encouraged me to want understand more about becoming an entrepreneur and starting my own company, this was purely the reason I chose my field of study. Within Sixth Form, I took 3 A levels which helped to fulfil my love of learning through different subjects which I thoroughly enjoyed and made sure to choose a course in which these subjects would be implemented. I have been a home tutor since 2015 in which I helped many students with difficulties during their 11+ (English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning), Year 6 SATS, Year 2 SATS

I understand that we all deal with academic stress and the lifestyle differently, and we enjoy different learning styles. Through engaging explanations and plenty of examples, I will help to boost your confidence in areas you feel as though you are struggling in. I would love to help you fulfil your potential, whether it be through flashcards, past papers, mind-maps, anything is possible if we set our mind to it.

About my sessions

Preparation is key to see improvements, therefore I will take time to plan lessons beforehand to make use of the time we have within the lesson. It is evident that there are different working styles and each student works in a different manner, meaning preparation and organisation before lessons will allow me to present ideas effectively to students during lessons.

Preparation is key to see improvements, therefore I will take time to plan lessons beforehand to make use of the time we have within the lesson. It is evident that there are different working styles and each student works in a different manner, meaning preparation and organisation before lessons will allow me to present ideas effectively to students during lessons.

Additionally, content of each session will be tailored to the needs of the students; before each meeting we will discuss what areas of the syllabus the student feels would be useful to work on.

Each of my revision strategies are very different (ranging from writing out important formulas that are hard to remember, as well as understanding the concepts of difficult topics by going over many past papers), I hope to share these with students and make them feel more confident in areas they find difficult. Once our session comes to an end I will make sure to summarise the lesson highlighting the key points and discuss how well they understand the topic and if they are any areas they would like to recap. Being an easy person to talk to, it is extremely important to me for my students to feel comfortable about asking any questions or topics they are still struggling with as I am here to help them succeed.
