About me

About Me

I have recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Masters in Global Environment, Politics and Society. Before that, I achieved a degree in Classics, Education and Art History from Durham University. I am passionate about teaching and have five years of experience teaching drama at a local performing arts school, as well as one year of one-to-one tutoring experience. I remember how stressful exams are and, by being friendly, approachable and patient, would love to help other students get through them with a smile!

About my sessions

My sessions are student-directed and so always different depending what a particular student requires.

We often do the following:

Solidify core knowledge – making absolutely sure that a student understands all the crucial material (I will keep teaching a concept until the student can teach it to me!)

If appropriate, cover higher material that will enable students to gain the top grades.

Direct exam preparation (technique, strategy, revision advice)

Build confidence

Build enthusiasm! I really do love the subjects I teach and would hope to encourage this in others!

Personal Statement Sessions

These sessions usually involve:

Producing raw statement content appropriate for the course and institution

Arranging the content into a coherent and effective structure

Deciding on the most effective wording for each element

Checking the flow and progression

Drafting and re-drafting

Proof-reading

I know that this statement is often considered the most difficult part of the UCAS application process and so I really hope to demystify the process and help students to produce something that they can submit with pride!
