Experience: Part of the management team at an International Summer School (Head of Girls, Activities Manager)

As both a pupil and a previous teacher, I understand what is required of a good tutor. I believe that organisation and commitment are key to a good education, and thus I maintain high standards of punctuality, presentation and preparation. My previous work experience at an International Summer School has shown me that prior preparation is vital in order to deliver beyond adequate and effective lessons. Therefore, as a result I plan all my lessons with the individual student in mind, so to ensure that it is targeted directly for them and their strengths and weaknesses. My aim is to increase my pupils confidence on the given subject or topic so that they feel more comfortable when approaching their exams. As a History student and previously an English student, I have a solid understanding of essay technique, source evaluation and analysis; three key skills needed for both GCSEs and A-Levels. Furthermore, my own struggles in essay writing over the years allow me to understand on a personal level the difficulties experienced in these areas. Thus I hope to alleviate these difficulties, therefore increasing my pupil’s confidence in their previous areas of weaknesses.

As topics and boards differ greatly it would be of great help to me if you would notify me of what exam board you are on and if possible the topics you are studying, this enables me to properly prepare for your tutorial. Thank you.
