About me

About me:

I am a biology student at the University of Bristol. The course at Bristol is very well rounded so I can help with all the different disciplines covered at biology A level.

As well as biology I am happy to help with geography and English literature as these are also passions of mine. I am currently studying geography as part of an open unit at university, and essays and formal writing make up a large part of assessment.

I would love to instil my passion for these subjects in others.

How will I teach?

Before we start our sessions we will meet to discuss what you need help with. The content of the sessions will be guided by you and we can go in to as much or as little depth as you feel comfortable with. You may want to focus on understanding and learning the content, or you may want to shift the focus towards exam technique.

With geography and English I am happy to go over your essays and answers for you. I am also happy to research questions that I cannot answer straight away in the classroom.

UCAS applications:

If you are applying to university I am happy to help with your UCAS application. I have been through the process and know how stressful and complicated it can be.

1. Fertilisers containing nitrogen are washed from fields to rivers and ponds.

2. This effectively fertilises the algae in the pond causing an 'algal bloom'.

3. The layer of algae on the surface stops sunlight from getting to the plants below. This means they cannot photosynthesize to produce oxgen.

4. The plants die which further depletes the oxgen in the water as the bacteria decomposing them use oxygen.

5. The low oxygen levels cause fish and other organims in the water to die.
