About me

I am currently studying Physics at Trinity college in Dublin. This entails a mathematics module and a physics module and in my third year, I hope to specialise in Physics and astrophysics- a big passion of mine.

I am currently studying Physics at Trinity college in Dublin. This entails a mathematics module and a physics module and in my third year, I hope to specialise in Physics and astrophysics- a big passion of mine.

I love my degree as mathematics has always been somewhat intuitive in my learning. I therefore find that I can teach it effectively, so that the student finds the concepts will come naturally to them with a simple explanation and practice. Although it may not be a definite career choice of mine, I find teaching both enjoyable and rewarding- I have had practice teaching my younger brother (who is currently sitting his GCSEs) and with my classmates.

Completing maths and further maths at GCSE was an intimidating thought at first- however, with my mum being a Professor with much experience in the classroom, I found that doing past papers (and finally, the exam) became enjoyable! I have always considered a career in teaching at secondary or university level, as I know how imperative a teacher is to a student’s enjoyment of a subject.

With a good grade in maths at GCSE (and A level if you decide to do so) you will find that many more doors will open for you upon applying to university. It is an impressive subject to have in your tool belt and will help with any area of work you decide to pursue. This is why I am a good choice for a tutor- I'll help you get there!

You can contact me at any time with questions and topics that you struggle with- this will help me provide you with the most efficient and rewarding lessons- as I can prepare the lesson topic beforehand.

I will try to be as flexible as possible for you and ensure you feel more confident with every lesson. A good teacher only teaches, a great teacher learns and teaches. I can adapt easily to your learning style and establish a good pace for you in lessons, to ensure we're not progressing too slowly or moving too quickly for you. Every student has different needs, and so a patient teacher is essential- I understand the frustration when a concept does not come easily to you or simply doesn't make sense- that's why I can explain in the most effective way so you no longer feel stuck.

You may be using MyTutor just to brush up on a few bits and pieces you are unsure about, or you may need help with large topics that could come up on exams- either way, I will help you achieve your goals and increase your love for maths with every lesson.
