Why Law?

People! Law isn’t just the study of dusty tomes, or the abstract study of the elements of a criminal offence. It is that the pieces of information have been applied to, and changed people’s lives and livelihoods throughout the centuries the Rule of Law has been observed in the UK. This is what keeps the study of Law interesting to me. Understanding how what is written in Law feeds down to affect the every day lives of you and I, the political sciences behind those Laws and what they say about the society we live in. As you can see, although my primary studies are legal, my interests are also routed in the other disciplines I tutor.

For Students…

So how is that transferable to you? My attitude towards my studies comes across in my teaching. Although I am ultimately here to help you pass your exams and feel more confident about your studies, I want to make the experiences enjoyable for you! I like to keep my sessions in the hands of the tutee, I welcome questions and I’m always happy to discuss our subject more widely in any way the tutee finds helpful. For students, I am here as a tool for you, to facilitate learning in a comfortable and interesting way.

About my sessions

A Level and GCSE Law:

Scenarios: many Law based courses at GCSE and A level rely on the deconstructing of a scenario in the exam. I can provide support in understanding how to apply the Law to them.

Writing Skills: I can aid with essay writing skills, structuring, proof reading and marking any questions students do in their free time, making writing skills more generally more accessible.

Writing Skills: I can aid with essay writing skills, structuring, proof reading and marking any questions students do in their free time, making writing skills more generally more accessible.

Elements of the Law: I can help with the understanding of any of key areas of study in Law. I will do this in a structured way, at whatever pace suits the student. Questions are always welcomed at any point.

The LNAT:

Reading Tasks: Using articles from the current news and media, I will conduct LNAT style thinking exercises through the use of new and unfamiliar material to students, teaching them how to think critically. I can also recommend good prep reading for the exam.

Essay Skills: I can help students master the art of blind essay writing, learning the skills of effective written argumentation whilst utilising minimal data.
