About me

Hello, I am Mani Rai and I am in my 2nd year at Kings College London, studying Dentistry. I am a highly motivated tutor who has real desire for teaching science. I can guarantee each student I work with 100% dedication and commitment in order to reach their targets.

I achieved 7A*'s, 4A's at GCSE and 42 points at IB with 7's in higher biology and chemistry.

My sessions will be personalised for you to eliminate specific topics which are troubling you. My goal is to complete each session in confidence that you understand previously tricky topics to the level where you have the capability in teaching it.

As a dental student I am fully aware of the hurdles and stress provided by the UCAS application, however I managed to receive 4 offers for dentistry so know it is attainable! I am more than happy to provide support in personal statements, interview preparation, UKCAT examination for both aspiring medical and dental students.

Questions Mani has answered

Distinguish between active and passive immunity

Active immunity is due to the over production of antibodies by the organism itself after the body's defence mechanisms have been stimulated by the invasion of foreign micro-organisms. Whereas, passive immunity requires the acquisition of anitbodies from another organism in which active immunity has been stimulated, including via placenta or in colostrum.

What is a dominant allele?

An allele that has the same effect on the phenotype whether it is present in homozygous or heterozygous state. Dominant alleles mask the effect of recessive alleles.
