Degree: Geography undergraduate (Masters) - St. Andrews Unversity University
I am currently halfway through an undergraduate MA in Geography at the University of St.Andrews. I've always enjoyed helping people with schoolwork whether that is my peers, younger pupils or the world in general. During my GCSE and A- Level study I created and shared revision notes with my classmates and on the website "Getrevising". Some of these recources have been recommended by subject teachers. I found writing and trying to explain concepts for other people to understand really helpful and motivating.
When explaining things I like to try and use humour and enjoy the challenge of explaining things in understandable terms. I can sympathise with students who are struggling as before GCSE level I was that person.
I am able to help with all aspects of the subjects listed from content through to revision and exam techniques. I've always considered knowing what an examiner wants to be important and so will guide students through relevant marking criteria and the examiners reports from previous exams. Of equal import is having strong examples when answering questions and so I will develop specific examples with the student. The best examples are detailed, specific and often from outside of textbooks. Please let me know the problem areas and exam boards before a session so it can be best tailored to you!
The listed subjects are the ones I personally took and enjoyed at A-level. I study Geography at uni and have interests in both the physical and human aspects of the subject. Politics has always been an interest of mine and I still closely follow it on both sides of the Atlantic. Since coming to St.Andrews I have also studied International Relations modules which have kept this interest alive. Psychology is a very interesting subject and one I did very well on in school. Embarrasingly a number of times my teacher used my answers as model answers for the class!

Parliamentary Sovereignty is the concept in that within the United Kingdom that the legislatiure (parliament) is the source of all legitimate political power. This power is then devolved to other bodies with the consent of parliament. This links into the uncodified nature of the UK constitution as pariament is not beholden to any entrenched ideassee more
Providing place specific examples, rather than broader text book case study examples, begins to set aside your answer from the pack. For example, for a question asking about the effects of out of town shopping centres you can use a named local example including specific details such as the major infrastructure connections it has and the stores available theresee more
