About me

Hi everyone, my name is Matilda and I am in my third year of University. In England, I go to the University of Leeds, and I'm about to enter my fourth and final year after a year abroad in Ottawa, Canada.

Hi everyone, my name is Matilda and I am in my third year of University. In England, I go to the University of Leeds, and I'm about to enter my fourth and final year after a year abroad in Ottawa, Canada.

I study Music and Philosophy which I love, yet I've also always had a passion for maths. I love the satisfaction that comes with solving a problem, and am also fascinated by the logic behind it - a topic which actually has its base in philosophy and is one I've studied at University. I did IGCSE higher Maths, additional maths, and A level maths, so I'm confident I'll be able to help you with any questions you may have.

I used to find revision and homework incredibly lengthy and boring, and it often took me a while to understand things, which lead to very low motivation levels and ineffective work methods. I therefore decided to get tutoring for my exams, and thanks to the interactive nature of the sessions, in which I was walked through specific areas I struggled with at my own pace, everything began to click into place, and I suddenly found myself enjoying revision - which came as a very

strange feeling!

I'd love to be able to help students in a similar situation to the one that I faced, and facilitate the transition from viewing revision as a chore, to a positive chance for intellectual development, that'll be no doubt reflected in exam results.

About my sessions

We will start by having a chat about what it is you want to get out of the sessions, including your goals, areas you excel in, and areas you'd like to improve in.

I will then prepare for our sessions by gathering resources that'll target those specific areas, and we will go through these together. I think the key to improvement is letting you take the lead, so with each question we'll see how you approach it, what methods you use, and if you come across any diff...

I will then prepare for our sessions by gathering resources that'll target those specific areas, and we will go through these together. I think the key to improvement is letting you take the lead, so with each question we'll see how you approach it, what methods you use, and if you come across any difficulties, that's where I'll step in to help. Then, hopefully, the more questions we go through the more you will find yourself being able to do on your own, and before you know it you'll be a pro!

Every few sessions I'll give you a mini test, as this will allow us to track your progress, see which areas you're excelling in, and which areas we need to concentrate on.

If you prefer learning in a specific way, or feel that a different approach may work better for you, I'm more than happy to adapt to your needs - after all, everyone learns in their own way.
