About me

About me:

I am a recent History graduate from Durham University. I have a passion for history, but studied Geography and Maths at A level and have retained a strong interest in both of these subjects. I aim to share and transfer my passion for these subjects in my tutorials.

I am approachable and adaptive, so tutorials can be tailored to your specific needs or questions, and I will do my upmost to ensure you feel confident and prepared for everything and anything your exam might throw at you. I have a wealth of experience working with primary school aged children, both through work experience in the UK and working at a summer camp in America. this has both strengthened my love for teaching, but has also greatly developed my patience and varied teaching approaches.

My sessions:

In reality, my sessions are not mine at all, they are yours. Depending on your specific needs, we can devote more time to core understanding or to exam/essay technique. I am happy to discuss any questions or topics you have in as much detail and as many times as it takes for you to feel happy and comfortable with them.

I believe you've only truly mastered a topic when not when you can simply memorise and repeat information, but when you understand it to the level where you can confidently explain it to someone else (and maybe even help your friends too!) and so my aim is to give you not just the ability to answer the exam question, but to help you truly understand the area of the syllabus to increase your confidence not just in the exam, but in the subject in general.

Whilst the sessions are only an hour long, a lot more can be achieved in that time on a one to one basis than can be in a classrooom, especially as the sessions are all about you and working to ensure you are happy.

Next steps:

If you have any questions then please don't hesistate to get in touch via 'Web mail' or feel free to book a free 'meet the tutor' session with me where we can discuss things in more detail. Please remember to tell me your exam board and what it is you're having problems with.

Hope to hear from you soon!
