About me

Currently, I am studying Physics at Durham University. Every day, I am around dedicated academics with jaw dropping achievements, yet they keep searching for more. This hunger of figuring out what makes the universe tick is what got me into Physics. There are so many unknowns on so many frontiers in Physics that nobody knows where the next huge discovery is going to come from. One of the joys of tutoring, as well as why I feel a responsibility to give any student my absolute best, is because...

One of the joys of tutoring, as well as why I feel a responsibility to give any student my absolute best, is because they could be the one to find the next spectacular thing in Physics or any other field.

Strangely, for a Physics student, I have a passion for Art. My creative and imaginative nature has helped me tremendously. Having a different perception of a problem, being able to perceive what others think and being able to describe both is my biggest strength.

A lot of the time, students feel they don’t learn best in school. From experiences of having to learn topics myself, especially in Physics, I know it is tough. However, I gained an insight into picking apart concepts and understanding them in new ways. Through tutoring, I hope to pass my skills and knowledge on.

About my sessions

The best thing you can learn is how to learn effectively. Through A/A* iGCSE/GCSE and A-Level experience, I have many of my own learning techniques. This is through continuous experimentation, positioning me as a guide for students to their own best learning technique.

My lessons are all about student interaction and tailoring the lesson to their needs. Lessons are usually split into two parts. First, we go over what the student has been struggling with, going back to original material,...

First, we go over what the student has been struggling with, going back to original material, then doing a question similar to consolidate learning. Second, we visit a new topic, from simple learning objectives to overall application. Usually I set homework topics for students to have a look at before the next lesson. At the end of the lesson, I run through of what we have done, asking students to give a brief description of everything covered.

This may seem mundane and obvious, yet this structure heavily involves the student, allowing them to take control of their own learning. Students start to apply this structure of continually looking back at work to consolidate knowledge in their own time. This method gets results, but more importantly gives students the confidence to learn on their own and have fun doing so.
