About me

Hi there!

About me:

My name is Jack, and I am a third-year medical student at the University of Manchester, UK. I am from the Peak District, and love the great outdoors, from cycling to skiing and everything imbetween.

I an enthusiastic tutor with a patient, student-centered teaching style! I enjoy teaching and like to find ways of applying problems in the classroom to real-life situations. I have always had a passion for maths and the sciences, and would love to pass on my understanding of the key concepts of these subjects to you!

The teaching:

As your tutor, I will always let you decide how the session should go! Only you know how you learn best - it is my job to take the key concepts and present them to you in a way that you enjoy and understand, including videos, drawings, mnemonics, and much more.

As we begin to grasp the key concepts from each session, we can start to make connections between concepts, before applying them to real-life situations. Finally, we can test our new understanding by trying some practice questions.

During my time at medical school, I have discovered fascinating applications for many of the concepts that I learned during my school years. Science never ceases to amaze me - hopefully, my sessions can reveal the amazing and inspiring side to science to you too!

See 'subjects offered' below for the subjects that I offer teaching in and my rates.

Thinking of applying to medical school?

Applying to study medicine is tough and can be extremely competitive. I can give you help and guidance every step of the way... I've been there before too! From advice on what to include in your personal statement, to preparing for the UKCAT and medical school interviews, I can help out.

Get in contact!

If you have any questions or think you would like to book a session, send me a 'WebMail' or book a 'Meet the tutor session' on MyTutorWeb with your year of study, exam board, and the topic that you would like help with. See you soon!
