About me

I'm a second year economics student at the University of Nottingham and I've chosen to teach maths here on MyTutor. I find maths a rewarding subject to teach and it is something that I have always done well in. I'm a second year economics student at the University of Nottingham and I've chosen to teach maths here on MyTutor. I find maths a rewarding subject to teach and it is something that I have always done well in. On top of this I still use my mathematical knowledge today in my degree, which has strong mathematical foundations for all of the theories and concepts involved.

At A level I studied Maths, Economics, History and Physics and the breadth of these subjects has provided me both with the mathematical skills and experience that I need, but also with great confidence in my communication skills and ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly.

I achieved 4 A* grades at A level and I am therefore confident that my revision techniques are an excellent pathway to success. Simple methods can be used to build towards success in a maths exam. First, clear notes on the various methods used in maths exams should be made to help further revision. Using these notes in past papers can then help highlight gaps in a student's knowledge. Making mistakes is the key to progress and a good set of notes on where mistakes have been made in the past are an excellent way of ensuring the same mistakes aren't made again.

I am an enthusiastic tutor who loves travel, football and helping others. I hope to be able to help students achieve their best on MyTutor.

About my sessions

The most important part of any session is you, the pupil, and everything that I teach will be tailored to the wants and needs of the student. I expect to maintain good communication with my students to enable me to understand what they are struggling with and what they would like help and advice in so that I can prepare for these topics and focus lessons appropriately.

The most important part of any session is you, the pupil, and everything that I teach will be tailored to the wants and needs of the student. I expect to maintain good communication with my students to enable me to understand what they are struggling with and what they would like help and advice in so that I can prepare for these topics and focus lessons appropriately.

As we are getting close to final exams I expect many lessons to involve going through past papers and finding areas to work on through these exercises. I believe that past papers can be a rewarding way to study, particularly in maths, where it is easy to see gains being made and track progress. By working through exercises with students I can find areas to set more work on in future.

The key to a successful maths exam is a clear understanding of the steps for each question type and to have a knowledge of areas in which you have made mistakes in the past and how to avoid these in future. Through simple, precise explanations and encouraging note taking at key points I hope to guide students towards meeting and exceeding their potential by following simple steps. With patience maths can be accessible to all.
