About me

About me:

I am a geography student at the University of Bristol. I love learning about how the world works, and I hope that I will be able to help you love it too!

I have lots of experience teaching - ranging from as a qualified RYA Windsurfing Instructor, to tutoring for 11+ entrance exams, to teaching lessons as a member of staff with the Sea Cadet Corps.

Tutoring sessions:

I aim to make learning as enjoyable and fun as possible, and am very patient. I find simple diagrams are a great way to learn things for geography (and a great way to get across your knowledge in the exams!) so I will help you master these, as well as using other techniques to help you understand the concepts at hand!

I look forward to meeting you!

Questions Natalie has answered

How is a wave-cut platform formed?

Wave cut platforms are created as a cliff retreats, due to weathering at the top of the cliff and sea erosion at the base of the cliff. Coastal erosion creates a wave-cut notch at the base of the cliff, as this is where the wave energy is concentrated. This notch gets larger as erosion continues, until the cliff above becomes unstable and collapses. Backwash removes the rubble, and as the cliff retreats a wave-cut platform is left behind.
