Degree: BSc Politics and International Relations (Bachelors) - LSE University
Hello, I'm Helen!
I study BSc Politics and International Relations at the London School of Economics, with Philosophy as my outside course option and Spanish and Italian as separate projects, with LSE being the 3rd best university in the world for Politics, so I understand what it's like to juggle many different pressures!
I absolutely adore languages and humanities - hence my degree choice! My enthusiasm, diligence and meticulous nature have enabled to have a lot of experience tutoring - students in India as young as 5, Italian students wanting to go to university in the UK and Spanish students learning English to name but a few. I have successfully tutored subjects from Maths and Biology to English and History, and achieved top marks in all of my exams and so know the exam techniques for IB and GCSE inside and out.
I hope to enable my students to feel relaxed yet driven during my sessions - I believe the student should guide what we will be studying. In humanities and languages, a basic understanding is key in order to apply this knowledge - to either analyse in History or to speak in Spanish - and I hope to aid this and then to instill a confidence in the student that they are able to explain the concept we're learning to anyone! I hope to do this through many different ways - analogies, diagrams, acronyms - so the student is not just memorising, but understanding.
I also think it is important to focus on exam technique - in my experience, a third of the work is understanding what the examiners want!
Finally, the sessions should be rewarding and not a chore. Hopefully by the end of a session, some of my enthusiasm will have rubbed off!
Feel free to send me a WebMail or a Meet the Tutor Session; both of which are available through this website.
I look forward to meeting you!

Multicellular organisms show emergent properties; these are properties that exist due to many different components working together. For example, your lungs work and help you breathe due to all of the cells in them functioning as a unit; the cells by themselves do not aid you breathing.
Another way to remember it is "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts"
Even the term "multicellular organisms" can help explain this - they are made up of many cells.
Cells form tissues > tissues form organs > organs form organ systems > organs form multicellular organisms.see more
