About me

Hi! I'm Meghna Roy, a 19 year-old medical student who just completed her first year. I decided on studying medicine when I was in year 8 and realised I loved biology and chemistry and have always been interested in charity work and volunteering. It has always amazed me how simple actions of the body involved such intricate and elaborate processes. I am really enjoying university at Birmingham. In terms of exams, I've always promoted working consistently which helps with last minute load management and also taking breaks and loving yourself during revision.

About my sessions

The main aspect of a good teacher is someone who understand you and is willing to listen to you, thus guiding you in a way unique to the student. Therefore, I would begin by getting to know my student - their interests, which subjects they like and why, which subjects they don't. I want to know what aspects of a subject they think struggle with and what parts they excel at. Once a current idea of our position is established, we will target the difficult areas first and understand concepts...

Therefore, I would begin by getting to know my student - their interests, which subjects they like and why, which subjects they don't. I want to know what aspects of a subject they think struggle with and what parts they excel at. Once a current idea of our position is established, we will target the difficult areas first and understand concepts thoroughly before moving on. Working consistently and thoroughly from the beginning helps build confidence, which is want I aim to give my students - confidence. There will be tests and homework given to measure progress and establish understanding. If there are any difficulties, they will be explained. I think confidence is key to encourage learning - if you feel like you understand a subject and are seeing results, you will want to learn more.
