Degree: English Literature & Creative Writing (Bachelors) - Warwick University
Hello! My name is Alex and I am currently in my final year at the University of Warwick studying English Literature and Creative Writing. I have always been passionate about the humanities and the creative arts. Last year I volunteered at a local primary school teaching English and also tutored A Level English over the summer, where I discovered my love for teaching.
I practice a variety of teaching methods, but can particularly help out with grammar, syntax and general essay writing style - the fundamental foundations for achieving the grade you deserve!
I look forward to meeting you and hopefully giving you the knowledge and confidence required for GCSE and A Level examinations.

Many people allow English to fall to the bottom of their priority list when revising for exams. Unlike other academic subjects, English is not a sequence of learning facts for a simple question and answer.
But there is so much more you can do to revise English Literature. First of all, knowing your syllabus texts as well as you possibly can will allow you to criticise, analyse and quote from them appropriately. Once you have highlighted key themes, motifs, and ideas and know how you could apply this kowledge to any style of question, essay structure and form is all that is left to overcome!
Building a persuasive peice of writing takes planning and layering of ideas on top of one another to lead towards your final conclusion, and to reiterate your thesis statement. Looking at complex sentence structures, relevant critical vocabulary, and the formation of paragraphs in your essay will help you on your way to achieving the grade you truly deserve!see more
