I'm here to help you feel confident and comfortable in the work you're doing. English should be exciting, not overwhelming or intense, so I will always be lead by how you learn and think. That being said, our lessons will always follow a basic, flexible pattern, just so you know what to expect each week.

I'm here to help you feel confident and comfortable in the work you're doing. English should be exciting, not overwhelming or intense, so I will always be lead by how you learn and think. That being said, our lessons will always follow a basic, flexible pattern, just so you know what to expect each week.
Firstly, we'll have a look at what you've done that week, and go through what was successful and what might need a bit of work. Extra support outside of class is always useful, particularly with demands of GCSE and A Level work - I’m here to help you feel strong!
Then, we will do some text work - this is the really fun bit! We will look at characters, text comparisons, overarching themes and contextual points in order to practise thinking through arguments and applying your knowledge more practically. It will help you get to know your texts really well, and allows you to practise exercising your ability to debate - if you can analyse and discuss the texts out loud, you will find it much easier to write and debate in the exam!
Finally, I will set you a short question or paragraph, which you will complete under 'exam conditions', which I will mark at the end. This is a practical way of bringing all the different skills together - and will again familiarise you with the exam situation to make you feel as comfortable as possible on the day.
