About me

After achieving AAA* at A-Level I secured a place studying Theology and Religion at Cambridge University. This has allowed me to pursue papers covering psychology, history, philosophy, sociology and literature so I don't have to compromise on any of my academic interests.

I have experience in tutoring stretching back three years for A-Level and GCSE students. With parents who teach humanities GCSE I also have access to some of the textbooks and resources your child will be using in class. My first year at Cambridge has enabled me to frequently attend University run debates, so I have watched and participated in both encouraging others to develop their views (as will be necessary for all students taking humanities subjects) and in playing devil’s advocate and challenging viewpoints (as will be necessary for higher achievers).

Outside of Academia I enjoy fantasy and science fiction books and advocate strongly for better understanding of mental health issues that affect young people, particularly students, so I'll be able to give tips for your child on coping with academic educed stressors such as exams.

About my sessions

I find the best way to structure my sessions is to tailor them to the individual needs of my tutees. Structured sessions with hand-outs and mark scheme analysis can be given to those who find a meticulous approach helpful while informal sessions of Q&A’s can be arranged for those who respond better to a more relaxed pace. My sessions will also include a short informal debate. In the humanities this can really boost your grade. Classroom debates can be hard to get involved in, so having th...

Classroom debates can be hard to get involved in, so having the space to talk out an issue with a friendly face can be very helpful. I can also aid you in tips to reduce exam stress and other academic worries that might be affecting you.

When we meet we'll explore what you want out of our sessions and identify your weaker areas so we can work together to improve them (such as issues with exam questions, memorisation of facts or time management). If you provide me with essays and exam questions we will improve your essay techniques. Going through these and key-fact quizzes will enable me to see how you’re improving.
