About me

Hello! I have just graduated from Cambridge University with a First in history. During my degree I studied British history including the Tudors and 19thC political history. I also studied 18th and 19thC European history, American and South American history, and in my final year I specialised in China. I also studied 18th and 19thC European history, American and South American history, and in my final year I specialised in China. My degree covered history from all over the world and I am happy to tutor on all the GCSE and A-Level history topics, from any exam board. One of my greatest strengths is in producing essays and so I also teach other essay-based subjects such as English GCSE. At university I was the Co-editor of the International Development Society's magazine and in the future I would like to be a book editor. I therefore feel confident in helping my students to improve on their essay structures and writing styles as well as the content of the essays themselves. Outside of my degree, I am a big k-pop fan and even set up a k-pop society when I was at Cambridge! Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have and tutoring requests, I will be happy to help! :)

About my sessions

I believe that it is important to tailor my lessons according to each student's specific needs. In our first session I will ask about what areas most concern you, whether that be a certain topic or more general concerns such as essay structure or time-management. It would also be helpful to see an example of your written work so that I can gauge which areas can be improved. From there I will focus on these areas, whilst also equipping you with a range of strategies so that you will feel c...

I believe that it is important to tailor my lessons according to each student's specific needs. In our first session I will ask about what areas most concern you, whether that be a certain topic or more general concerns such as essay structure or time-management. It would also be helpful to see an example of your written work so that I can gauge which areas can be improved. From there I will focus on these areas, whilst also equipping you with a range of strategies so that you will feel confident on the paper or subject as a whole. I will do my best to make the lessons as fun as possible whilst still being effective, for example I will use games to test you on dates, key people and events in addition to assessing your progress through your written work. I understand that you already have a mountain of school-work to contend with and so any additional written work I give you will be small tasks, such as making an essay plan or practising introductions, which we can work on together in the lessons themselves. Most importantly, my lessons can be flexible; I will listen to what you would like to do and adjust my lesson plans accordingly. I hope that my lessons will leave you feeling encouraged and help you to achieve your goals!
