I'm also the treasurer at my universities Embedded and Electronics Society. The infinite amount of possibilities technology offers us is almost overwhelming and I want to be part of this movement that continually automates, analyses and invents.

In my free time I like to paint with acrylics and watercolor pencils, sewing and building miniature houses and figurines. I even managed to combine my passion for technology with building miniature houses: I like to add electronics such that the houses appear more real and have more functionality.

As I grew up in Germany and Switzerland, German is my mother tongue. I'm interested in how languages work and their different rules, so German was a very exciting subject for me in school and I'm confident that I'm able to explain the (many) different rules in a simple way.

In school my favorite subject was mathematics, but I didn't want to do "just" mathematics at university. As I had already taught myself how to program, I opted for a Computer Science instead, since mathematics is a huge part of this area. I wasn't always good at mathematics, only when I started to really get interested in it. Therefore I can understand what students who struggle with this subject feel and I believe that this is very helpful in finding a method to teach that is suitable for them.

About my sessions

I structure my lessons such that, in the beginning of each session, the student lists a few questions/ exercises the struggled with, and we prioritize them together. Then, we go through the questions together and, if necessary, I provide the students with a few exercises. For this, it is important that the student notifies me about the topic they want to talk about (i.e for a German lesson this could be pronouns or cases, for instance). If the student does not have any questions in specific,...

If the student does not have any questions in specific, I'd like to quiz them on the current topic they are working on in school and provide them with a few exercises to see if there is still anything that requires explanation.

Either way, it is important that the student notifies me of which topic he or she would like to talk about in advance, so that I can prepare accordingly.

I measure progress mainly by comparing the students current performance to their performance at the beginning of our sessions. In order to assess this, I ask myself questions such as: would the student have known this a few weeks ago? Do they seem more confident in the subject (i.e by coming up with different solutions by themselves or by being able to come up with the answer to a question themselves). Another important factor to measure progress is student feedback, which I will ask the student for on a regular basis.

Bella has been working with my son for a couple of weeks, but already he has a much better understanding of topics and programming. He is also looking forward to lessons which is great. I can really recomend Bella who has been super efficient and diligent in her lessons. Very grateful for her support.
