Passionate about psychology, I know that understanding psychological concepts is crucial to explaining them clearly on paper, and believe it’s important to combine a broad understanding of psychology with the specific exam technique exam boards seek. With experience in a variety of educational settings working with many diverse individuals, I understand that sometimes students need material presented in different ways before it ‘clicks’. My patient and positive attitude gives students confidence to implement their own ideas and take control of their own learning, while maintaining a focus on requirements of the exam question.
Having now graduated with a BSc Psychology, 2:1, in which I gained a first in all research modules, I am highly proficient at explaining the often difficult topic of research methods and also encourage students to have a toolkit of revision techniques which they can apply to situations as required, to improve how material is learned for exams. I am now work in a school, supporting pupils’ learning and preparing them for exams, which is beneficial when tutoring students on MyTutor.
I also work extensively with sixth formers and am therefore highly competent at helping students best present their strengths to create powerful personal statements which achieve results. Similarly, I have also given mentoring sessions on MyTutor for writing successful job applications and supporting individuals leaving university or looking for work.
