About me

Education

I am a postgraduate studying for my MSc Neuroscience at King's College London. I completed my BSc Psychology (Hons) at the University of Exeter in 2016.

For A-levels, I took English language, Psychology, Art, and Government & Politics.

Tutoring

I'm happy to tutor at A-level and GCSE in English language, Psychology, and Art. I’m also more than happy to give you personalised feedback on your personal statement for university applications.

I have experience with teaching and tutoring, having worked in primary and secondary schools with students of various ages and abilities, from formal classes to one-to-one mentoring. I’ve edited personal statements, university essays, and scientific reports, and have worked as a copyeditor and proofreader.

Teaching is something I really enjoy and I would like to inspire other students to feel confident and capable, and hopefully you will even start to see challenges as something to conquer and enjoy, than something to shy away from. I’m a patient person, and if you don’t quite “get it” immediately, that’s completely normal - and we’ll keep trying together until you do (which I’m sure won’t be long!).

Thank you for considering me whilst deciding your tutor, and I hope to meet with you soon!

If you're interested in booking a meet the tutor session with me, please message me with the exam you want tutoring for (module code and board).

About my sessions

Out of a tutoring session, I aim to build your confidence, your knowledge, and your understanding. Every student is different, so if there’s a particular way you prefer to learn, I’ll tailor the sessions to make sure you’re getting the most out of it. If not, I’ll make the sessions as varied as possible for you, including setting you some small tasks to help you prepare for the next session, and providing you with access to some great revision resources, Q&A and revision sessions, and chats on the subject. Whilst education is the main goal here, the sessions won’t be rigidly structured – if all you need is a casual discussion to explain some theories in real terms and have a few questions answered, that’s what I’ll do.

Having struggled with mathematics in the past, I understand how frustrating it is to feel like you’re falling behind and can’t seem to understand what the teacher is telling you. I also understand how it feels to pretty much grasp a subject and still want more from a session, whether that’s just in terms of having someone to set extra practice to help in an exam, having someone to have discussions about subject matter to bring the material to life, or checking and building upon your existing knowledge.
