About me

Hi my name's Hasan and here's a little about me! Im currently studying medicine at Imperial College London and am loving the course. What appeals to me most is the mixture of scientific fact with real world application with the aim to improve the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people. Hi my name's Hasan and here's a little about me! Im currently studying medicine at Imperial College London and am loving the course. What appeals to me most is the mixture of scientific fact with real world application with the aim to improve the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people. Learning about the functions of the body through a purely medical perspective is a big difference from how it is taught at school, but makes it all the more interesting and exciting to study. Alongside that at university I'm a member of a number of medical societies and the football club allowing me to have a perfect balance of time in and out of my course. I'm sure many of you aspiring medical students may have a similar vision for the future, and having gone through A levels and the numerous stages of the application process just over a year ago, I fully understand how difficult and overwhelming the experience can be. My aim is to be able to share my unique experiences to provide help to those who find themselves in a similar situation in year 12 and 13, whether that be tutoring for the A Level Sciences and Maths, Personal Statements and Interviews, Admission Test help and just general tips for applying to university.

About my sessions

Every student is different in terms of what their goals are and what they wish to get out of lessons. The most important thing is to make an early assessment of these goals because of how specific they are to each individual. For example someone who is applying to all BMAT universities would have different goals to someone applying to all UCAT universities - both in terms of how they are preparing for the respective admission tests and the A-level grade requirements, it is important to be cle...

Every student is different in terms of what their goals are and what they wish to get out of lessons. The most important thing is to make an early assessment of these goals because of how specific they are to each individual. For example someone who is applying to all BMAT universities would have different goals to someone applying to all UCAT universities - both in terms of how they are preparing for the respective admission tests and the A-level grade requirements, it is important to be clear what these goals are so that time is not wasted in what is a very busy and stressful time. By communicating clearly and frequently with the student it is easy to get an idea of where they currently stand and what they want to get out of lessons. Lesson structure varies depending on these goals, but will follow the loose structure of using past papers and questions to help build up one's confidence and ability. For A level subjects it is easy to monitor progress through this approach as improvement comes with practice. A lot of the medical application is surprisingly formulaic as there are certain things you must include in personal statements and interviews - so having a guide to this formula is very useful. The best way to encourage learning is to build the students own confidence and understanding of the subject matter, which will come through my friendly approach to lessons and the rapport that will be built with the student.
