About me

I went from hating my year 12 English classes to gaining a high A* at A level in a subject I now love. I can really empathise with students who are frustrated by their current working level and struggling to attain top marks.

I've been tutoring for a little over two years and in that time I've found that a flexible tuition structure is really important for helping students enjoy the subject they're struggling with as much as possible. The advantage of the broad English literature curriculum is its potential to exploit the aspects of study which students enjoy, and use them to strengthen their weak spots. I pride myself on offering genuinely adaptable sessions.

About my sessions

I like to start with a discussion about what students want to gain from tutoring, looking at what they enjoy about reading, what they want to improve, as well as the proximity of upcoming exams and assessments.

From there, we can plan a schedule of work to address what you need. For example, we could work on: essay plans, writing under timed conditions, revision techniques, or critical analysis. My university membership gives me access to world class scholarly articles which I can share with you to strengthen both your understanding of texts and your final exams.

The more time I have with a student the better, but I also have experience providing last minute exam prep, as well as more long term support. I think pre assessments are really important, and I'd love to discuss what you need from tuition and how I could help!
