About me

Hello there! My name is Sanjay and I am about to go into my first year at university to study Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford. I love grappling with questions about society such as "who gets what and why?" or "how should society's resources be distributed?". Even though these subjects are my particular interest, I believe I am qualified to help others with several different subjects too!

I love grappling with questions about society such as "who gets what and why?" or "how should society's resources be distributed?". Even though these subjects are my particular interest, I believe I am qualified to help others with several different subjects too!

I was awarded an academic scholarship to Eton College at 13, and so have been taking exams for quite some time. Having gone through the GCSE, A-Level and university processes, I have quite a lot of relevant experience which may be able to help you with any difficulties you are having, whether with questions themselves or just dealing with exams more generally. I believe my experiences will help me to empathise with students when they are struggling with problems and to help find the best solution. Applying to university can be a gruelling process, and, having gone through it myself, I will try my best to help in whatever way I can!

Outside of lessons, I have several interests. I like to go running and also occasionally play rugby. I also have debated competitively for several years as well as have led my school's philosophy and economy societies.

About my sessions

I will structure my lesson by first working out exactly what it is that you would like to get out of the period. For example, if you are struggling with circle theorems, then the lesson objective may be to have a complete understanding of these concepts by the end of the period.

After trying to work out what exactly you are having difficulties with, I will spend the main portion of the lesson trying to rectify this. If you feel like you now have a better understanding of the topics, the...

If you feel like you now have a better understanding of the topics, then I think it would be best to dive into some questions. Firstly, we would approach some together, then I think it would be best for you to try some yourself, with me there in case you get stuck.

By the end of the lesson, I would like to go back to the lesson objective agreed upon at the start and to see if we achieved it. If we have, great! If not, it would be helpful to find out why (for example, one lesson may not be enough time for certain topics).
