About me

In my early childhood I struggled with mathematics and was considered only an average student, I was also rather shy which led me to be rather tentative about approaching teachers for help. The difficulties that I overcame (Like I believe everyone can) made me aware of common problems that students face when studying Mathematics. During my time working with special needs children with the charity organization Mencap I developed my skills as a support worker where I would work one on one with kids developing their self confidence. I consider myself friendly and easily approachable. When learning I focus on the intuition behind the topics rather than memorizing a method, this will allow the student to tackle problems which may seem unfamiliar to them. This approach was key to my success during Gcse's and A-levels. During my classes I was often approached by fellow students to discuss topics and help with problems. I studied Further Maths and core Maths at A-level under the Edexcel examining board and the Maths GCSE under the OCR examining board. Overall I would aim to reach the standard where the student would be able to answer unfamiliar exam questions independently and confidently!!
