About me

Hi,

My name is Daniel Silva, and I'm currently a 2nd year BSc Economics student at the University of Nottingham, achieving a 2:1 in my first year. The reason I chose to study Economics since the age of 14 is because Economics is fundamental to everything that we do in our lives. From buying a coffee in the morning to managing millions of pounds in an office, none of it would be possible without Economics.

It also helped that I've always had a passion in mathematics, due to no other subject providing the same level of satisfaction when you get the answer right. I'm also extremely qualified to teach Maths considering I've attained consistent A*s since GCSE all the way to A-Level.

I'd recommend myself as a tutor due to the fact that I'm very approachable, understanding and patient. I understand that people learn in different ways and would be able to manage different solutions in order to make sure my student understands what I'm teaching. I like to make sure my student feels like they have all of my attention, and due to the fact that I like being quite social, I'd say that my student would feel very comfortable in my presence.

I hope that you think that I'm a suitable candidate.

About my sessions

I think that being prepared into a lesson is important, so prior to the lesson, I'll do some research into what examiners expect in terms of structure and content, and base my lessons around covering those in order to prepare my student as much as possible for different scenarios. In terms of Economics, having a thorough understanding of how everything is interconnected is key, and when this is put alongside structure, we're looking at high grades and achieving our goals. I believe that going over exam style questions and looking at excellent exam answers is the best way of learning, as well as looking at what we're working with and how we can improve what's already been built.

In terms of the way I'd like to deliver my lessons, I very much enjoy being asked questions. Personally, I've always found that asking questions and asking about all possible scenarios has led to me always entering exam halls feeling prepared for anything that may be put in front of me, so I would make sure that my student has no questions walking into the exam by giving them the environment where they feel safe and comfortable enough to ask me.
