Hi! My name is Mark and I am a Bachelor of Sciences (BSc) Economics graduate from the University of Warwick and current Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) student at the University of Law.

I have a wide-array of experiences supporting students to achieve full potential both in academia and careers, through work as a university Student Ambassador, focussed on outreach and widening participation, Economics Mentor and Law Careers Mentor. This has provided me with an understanding of assisting students, like you, in achieving your goals.

Having achieved top grades at GCSE (12 A*/A) and A-Level (3 A*/A), I am well-positioned to help you develop technical knowledge, exam technique and ultimately confidence. I have a deep passion for all of the subjects that I tutor and aim to provide enjoyable and informative sessions that maximise outcomes. I am an approachable, patient and understanding individual, with the flexibility to tailor sessions to meet your needs.

Outside of academia, I have a variety of interests and hobbies, notably sport and music. I regularly play 5-a-side football and go to the gym. At university I was involved in leading a student-led movement for global health and holistic development, organising volunteering expeditions for students to Panama, Honduras and Nicaragua on Business, Engineering and Human Rights Brigades!

About my sessions

In order to provide high-quality and tailored tutor sessions, it is important for me to better understand your needs and what you aim to achieve/get out of the sessions to work towards your goals.

I aim to provide structured sessions which combine teaching/explanations and then practice based questions/problem sets. This is an effective way to develop both the technical knowledge of a subject and the exam technique, which is essential to obtaining the highest marks. Working through questions step-by-step will also give you the confidence of how to approach examination questions.

Each session will be complimented by additional homework practice questions to work through in advance of the next session. The following session will involve a quick recap of previous material and the practice questions, before moving onto new content. However, the pace and difficulty of the sessions will be dictated by you and your progress.

There will also be regular progress checks in order to ensure that you are on track, whilst also highlighting areas for further attention. This will be achieved through the use of past examination questions, in addition to self-produced questions.
