About me

Personally, exploring the unknown has always been a passion of mine as nothing excites me more than new discoveries about the universe, which is exactly why I've chosen to study physics at university, with the hope to progress into a successful career as a physics researcher. Personally, exploring the unknown has always been a passion of mine as nothing excites me more than new discoveries about the universe, which is exactly why I've chosen to study physics at university, with the hope to progress into a successful career as a physics researcher. My dreams are to discover entirely new branches of physics and solve some of the most burning questions in the community, such as whether there is a multiverse and what happens beyond the boundary of our universe. I have always been a consistently high achiever who constantly aims to be at the top of his game and I hope to share my hardworking and dedicated attitude with my tutees. I stand out as my insight into the subject is usually beyond the requirements of the syllabus, allowing me to answer most questions my tutees may have about a given topic. I believe that this characteristic sets me apart from other tutors as I am able to cater to the tutees needs - be that more help with basic understanding of a topic or to allow them to ask more advanced and probing questions - and these are skills that cannot be commonly found. In addition to my academic studies, I enjoy sports such as tennis, squash, swimming and attending the gym recreationally, and I find that being able to relax while playing sports is a fantastic way to break up revision sessions and refresh the mind. I will also be a member of the Physics, Baking and Welsh societies at university, as these are a great way to meet new people!

About my sessions

To prepare for a tutoring session, I will ask in advance which topics you feel are your weakest / would like to revise and ensure that I revise the topic thoroughly before our session so as to ensure that the information is fresh in my mind and provide you with the most efficient tutoring session possible. To prepare for a tutoring session, I will ask in advance which topics you feel are your weakest / would like to revise and ensure that I revise the topic thoroughly before our session so as to ensure that the information is fresh in my mind and provide you with the most efficient tutoring session possible. During the session, I will begin with an introduction to the topic at hand and follow with simple examples of how to apply and use the techniques. Usually, I will then work through past paper questions with you and point out where the marks are allocated within your answer. To measure your progress, I will set past paper questions for you to work through on your own and will mark these for you and provide useful feedback. My study techniques involve taking the information garnered in lessons and condensing it into tidy, handwritten, colour coordinated notes and studying these religiously. This way of studying is extremely effective and efficient as usually a final set of exam-ready notes are ready to go after only a couple of drafts. Preparing these notes soon after studying a topic in lessons means that the information is fresh and correct in your mind, rather than having to relearn a topic to make notes on it only weeks before an exam. Personally, constant revision throughout the year is the key to success! Please note that I can offer advice on many other revision styles - not just my own!
