About me

About me: I am a Law student at the University of Edinburgh. As far as it goes, I have a real "thing" for languages, having studied several throughout my time at school, and hopefully, even if you don't experience the same joy as I do learning verb tables and idiomatic expressions, maybe I can make it slightly less painful for you! I'm also incredibly passionate where my degree subject is concerned, and get more than a fair bit excited discussing constitutions and contractual...

I'm also incredibly passionate where my degree subject is concerned, and get more than a fair bit excited discussing constitutions and contractual delict... Maybe one day you'll get as excited about something this lame! I am extremely patient, and aim to be as friendly and approachable as is humanly possible. I spent part (just under half) of my final high school year studying abroad in Spain, and had during that time had several students who I regularly assisted with their grasp of English, with the range of knowledge from one student to another being quite large, I have a fair amount of experience in tailoring myself to the needs of others.

About my sessions

What I help you with in terms of subject areas and particular material should be completely up to you, and the areas that you most struggle with, will be given priority attention, until you feel that click (and trust me, things will always click in the end.) With language study I always find it helpful to do a half and half approach, spending half the time speaking and understanding the language, and the other half on explanations of grammar, done in English, only because I feel that this is...

What I help you with in terms of subject areas and particular material should be completely up to you, and the areas that you most struggle with, will be given priority attention, until you feel that click (and trust me, things will always click in the end.) With language study I always find it helpful to do a half and half approach, spending half the time speaking and understanding the language, and the other half on explanations of grammar, done in English, only because I feel that this is the fastest way to build speaking confidence and accuracy in the quickest, and most natural way. That doesn't mean I want you to feel intimidated, and I hope to achieve the opposite, and put you at ease with what you know, and give you the flair that you need to enjoy what you're doing! If you're applying to Law School: I've been there, and I am more than happy, and available to help you in preparing for the LNAT, or even just advising you on the best way to go about completing your application to the best of your ability! And hopefully I can help ease any worries or concerns that you have over the potential application. One last thing: Since studying a language is not a rigid discipline, I don't feel it makes a great deal of difference which exam board is being used by a student (though it might be helpful so please let me know anyway), but for parents and students to note the exam board I am best acquainted with is the SQA (Scottish).
