I believe in listening to students to find out how I can best help them - enabling me to support them appropriately. I like to find out how students enjoy and relate best to the material... be that past papers, further examples, proofs, different methods etc. This also enables me to present subjects in a variety of ways in order to help the students further their understanding. I am well placed to tutor, having assisted a variety of students with their studies throughout my final years at school, as well as having successfully come through the ever-changing examination system myself, achieving 4 A* (Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry) and an A (Geography) at 'A' Level.

About my sessions

Most sessions will be focussed on going through examples and past paper questions and ensuring the student understands them and the theory behind, not just able to answer the questions without deeper (and essential) knowledge. This starts with finding out what areas need to be focussed on, either with the students expalining what they're struggling with, or by going through a paper quickly and seeing what issues crop up. I am then able to use a range of examples to both explain the underlying principles and ensure they are able to answer similar questions confidently. The online lesson space is great in order to do this, allowing both of us to be able to write and go through questions; I try to do as little talking as possible once the basic principles are understood. To monitor progress, past papers are again useful, being able to set one as "homework", then go through it next week, see which areas need more work and to be able to give an idea of the grade they're working at.

Brilliant teacher, helps you to understand the topic and uses exam questions to make sure the topic is understood. He gives you some question to do as homework so you can ask in the next class if you are stuck or unsure.
