About me

Yes, you may initially get the answer incorrect, but, through persistence and trialling different methods, you will achieve the correct answer. Whenever I achieve a correct answer, I feel accomplishment and pride. By building the confidence of students by improving their mathematical ability, they will develop these feelings of accomplishment and pride, finding excitement in mathematics.

Due to enduring numerous exam seasons already, I can empathise with the nerves students may feel during this time period. My role is to prepare students as much as possible for their exams. Hopefully, due to both my tuition and my guidance, students will see exams as a positive challenge rather than a dreaded test. Similarly, applying to university may be nerve-wracking. I have experienced this through applying to five Russell Group universities, so I have built an understanding of what these universities are looking for, including personal statements, and I am happy to advise students. One of my choices was to study Mathematics at Oxford University, so I have experienced the Oxbridge application process, including the MAT, too.

About my sessions

Students must begin by understanding the fundamentals of mathematics in order to understand GCSE or A Level. To achieve this, each topic will get progressively difficult as the session or sessions progress. The rate at which difficulty increases depends on the individual understanding of the student and I will check the student’s understanding throughout each session by asking questions.

To achieve this, each topic will get progressively difficult as the session or sessions progress. The rate at which difficulty increases depends on the individual understanding of the student and I will check the student’s understanding throughout each session by asking questions.

Each topic will be split into two main sections: explaining the topic and practicing questions. The explanation of the topic will be relatively brief and focussed on defining key terms and methods. I believe that the best method for improving mathematical ability is through practicing questions and this technique worked in both my GCSE and A Level Mathematics exams. Of course, if the student is struggling with a question, I am there to explain the questions using the visual technique of the whiteboard to aid understanding.
