About me

Hi, my name is Josh and I am a student at Durham University studying Theology.

Having a tutor who has already done very well at school and subsequently goes to a top UK university is something which can give an A Level or GCSE student the extra edge and support that is necessary to do even better at school and succeed in exams, something which cannot be learned from a text book.

With experience of tutoring in the past, I am a friendly and approachable individual who can communicate and teach very well.

In the past I have worked on a weekly basis with both A Level and GCSE students, listening to any concerns they were having with work, delivering helpful insights into the topic and organising information so that it could be better remembered for exams.

I have 9 A-C grade GCSEs, including A*’s in; History (Edexcel), Philosophy and Ethics (OCR), Sociology (OCR) and English Literature (AQA). For A Level I achieved an A* in Sociology (AQA), an A* in Religious Studies (AQA) and an A* in General Studies (AQA). I therefore know what it takes to get top marks in exams and I am eager to pass this knowledge on to others.

I am very flexible in terms of availability. I am available nearly all evenings, all weekend and most afternoons.

In my tutoring sessions I aim to listen to any concerns you may have, or areas you would like to cover, and structure sessions around this. I understand that everyone learns in different ways so the information I give will be tailored to what you want and will be perfect for you to use in exams and school work.

The nature of my degree means I have experience in a wide range of academic areas including history, literary analysis, philosophy, anthropology and sociology. I understand how to present information in an easily understandable way and I can explain how to use this information effectively to get top results in exams.

I really do want to help as many people as I can get the grades they want and deserve.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Josh.
