About me

Mathematics is a wonderful subject and I was always intrigued by it, but it took me some time to realize that. I recently started a Bachelor degree and even though I have 18 years of experience with this subject, it amazes me how I get to learn something new about it every day. The depth of it is infinite, just like real numbers are. It can be explored or used in a variety of domains (from medicine to engineering) and it was among us from day 1. Some of us love it, some of us hate it and some are neutral when it comes to Maths, but it's a certainty that we all need it.

I now love it and I aced most of my Mathematics exams. In order to achieve that, I practiced and practiced and practiced some more because this subject is like a sport, if you want to be good at it, you have to practice it.

Each individual has mathematical notions and is capable of understanding new ones if the base of these new ones is solid. From my point of view, once we have that solid base, we can go on and build a house on it (in this case, more mathematical knowledge). But firstly, we need to know exactly (or at least have an idea) what we understood and can use forward and where we should put more effort into understanding.

Lastly, and probably the most important thing, Mathematics is a subject that doesn't give up. It's ambitious and it just keeps going forward and so should we!

About my sessions

Practice, practice and practice some more! In order to achieve your goals, it is very important to want to study on your own, so be prepared for some extra homework.

Most likely, some questions will rise while working these exercises, so this will be the first thing to start with: helping you figure out how to solve them. I am an optimist when it comes to Maths and I believe that anyone can solve a problem if they ask themselves the right questions. So, I will mostly try to make you solve that particular problem by addressing some questions that you may not have considered. This method may not always be successful, but I'm always happy to help.

Mathematics is filled with formulas and theorems and I would recommend you to write down, highlight etc. everything you consider important in problem solving.

From time to time, a test will be given in order to see if what we've covered by that point is well understood or if we should discuss it some more. Don't worry about it, it won't take more than 15-20 minutes to finish the test.
