About me

I love Psychology because it is essentially the study of life. From investigating circadian rhythms in rats to how music can help improve mood, psychology permeates life as we know it. My passion for psychology can be seen in the Extended Project Qualification I completed on how to create an emotionally evoking listening experience, for which I received an A* in. I aim to help my students improve by strengthening their foundation in approaching psychology - how does one approach it and learn...

I aim to help my students improve by strengthening their foundation in approaching psychology - how does one approach it and learn to appreciate it? I also aim to make psychology a more accessible topic area, so that students taking this subject will learn to find confidence in their subject knowledge and critical approach. Besides that, I also studied English Literature at A level and achieved 24/25 for my coursework comparing Robert Lowell's poetry and Ali Smith's 'Autumn'. I love critically analysing unseen extracts and exploring literary characters in depth. I hope to help students improve their critical analysis skills and offer useful revision advice and resources on English Literature.

I completed AQA Psychology and OCR English Literature, but I am happy to tailor to the student's current syllabus if required.

About my sessions

I am happy to tailor my lessons to the students' own perceived needs. I would love to first discuss with them what they need help with, and how best to cope with these areas. Goal-setting will be a part of my lessons. After each lesson I would like to take a bit of time to discuss how the student found the lesson, any reflections and what they would like to move forward with next session. I encourage an active, collaborative tutor-student relationship. I will also measure progress with oc...

I will also measure progress with occasional homework exercises, such as having them write a short paragraph or answer a few exam questions. I am also more than happy to share revision tips and advice, and how to cope with school life in general. I hope my students will be able to come out of my lessons appreciating their subjects more, or at least feeling more confident about their future performance in these subjects. As a new tutor, I also look forward to learning from this experience and working on self-improvement.
