I have a particular passion for philosophy and more specifically for ethics for I believe in the importance and necessity of ethics in our contemporary world. Though, I love all philosophy- from Ancient Greek studies through to exploring issues such as the Problem of Evil. Additionally, my love for history has certainly assisted me to be an analytical and perceptive thinker with a mind keen to extend its education.

I completely understand exam pressures and have not been immune to these- however my A Level experience was extremely rewarding and I would love to be able to assist students in feeling this sense of pride and achievement. My main philosophy stands that there is no such thing as a 'stupid' question- it is so important to ask for help and feel no shame in doing so!

During my A Level studies, I tutored consistently for over a year both inside and outside of school. Every student is unique and I believe that I possess the communication skills necessary to ensure that I can understand specific needs and abilities. Hearing of the successes of these students is priceless and this acts as perfect motivation to continue to be a tutor. Overall I am friendly, approachable and empathetic person with a genuine passion for helping others.

About my sessions

As mentioned, there is no such thing as a 'stupid' question. I completely understand that often students may feel shy or overwhelmed in a classroom hence why there may be gaps. Therefore, it is my main priority to create an environment whereby a student can run any worries or questions by me without feeling a sense of embarrassment.

The free introductory meeting can be used to discuss important details such as exam boards and personal goals- this ensures that I

Therefore, it is my main priority to create an environment whereby a student can run any worries or questions by me without feeling a sense of embarrassment.

The free introductory meeting can be used to discuss important details such as exam boards and personal goals- this ensures that I

can do some research and preparation before sessions begin. Different exam boards look for different things- a key component of exams is nailing what the examiner is looking for!

Progress is personal so through identifying goals I will be able to monitor how a student is improving. For a subject like Philosophy or English it is extremely important to complete practice essays which I will offer thorough feedback on. Essay technique is key and I have a bank of example essays and paragraphs from my A Level to offer as templates to students.

During and after sessions I will produce useful resources which I will tailor to every student individually, for example for an ethics topic such as Natural Law I would produce a document including key points and most importantly thorough evaluation.

It is important to end the session with discussing what the student wants to cover in the next session- this also allows for appropriate preparation.
